Cassie Does More Field Work

Ypu can't believe the best day of my life happened.  Foxxy and I went to play retrieve again.  Foxxy shakes and shakes because she is so excited.  Anyway the best part is my BFF Zoey was there and afer we got our bumpers we got to play and we love each other and are so cute.  Everyone thinks so.  Sometimmes I wish Zoey lived with me so we could play all day.  Everyone I know was there - the dog Daisy who says she is a champion, but I think she is a golden retriever and also crazy old Larkin.  All of Zoey's family was there, too.

Cassie At Another Dog Show

The next adventure was another long car ride to another dog show.  This was different because Foxxy and I both went, and some lady handled me.  She made me stand still, run aroundin a circle, etc., etc.  That is really boring and I don't want to talk about it anymore. But guess what happened - I saw Henry (my dad!) and Eddie (my grandpa!)

Cassie Goes On Vacation

We all went on a long, long car ride to a lake.  We stayed a week and went swimming every day.  I liked to swim on top of my mom and try to drown her.  The old man got in the water and I think he tried to drown me with a paddle maybe.  The house where we stayed was fun to run in. The old man's boat got a hole in it, so we couldn't get in it.

I am in another class now.  This one we stand, run around in a circle, stand, run around, stand - boring!

We went in the car with my friend Daisy.  She is a lot older than me and she said she does lots of stand, run around in a circle, stand  - repeat.  She said she is a champion.  Okay - whatever - she just looks like me - a golden retriever.  I found out we were going to a dog show, and I did that thing where I stand, let someone put their fingers in my mouth, run around in a circle business.  The best part was after we had our pictures taken with three foxes! The old man laughed and laughed when he saw the picture of the old lady with me but I was cute of course.

Cassie Goes Dock Diving

This weekend we did something that was probably the MOST fun thing I ever did in my life.  We went to a farm (I think) where we met a whole lot of friends of the old man and old lady.  My buddy Craig (maybe he is my brother or the old people' son) went, too.  We saw Foxxy jump off a  large platform into the water after a bumper. I really wanted to try that.  Foxxy was shaking all over she was so excited.  They took me to a baby size version and I did go in the water but when I saw Foxxy I wanted to do the big dock diving like her.  So the old lady took me up on the big dock, and I got to jump in after a bumper just like Foxxy!  It was SO much fun!  I also saw Cookie Joan and my BFF Zoey.  Zoey wasn't allowed to go dock diving so she didn't have fun. I just wanted to do it again and again, but they put me in the X-pen.  So I just jumped out of the X-pen but Craig caught me.

I forgot to tell about my performance class.  I went to it for a long time, but I did not become a performer like my dad.  They say my dad Henry has been in the TV and that he dances.  The old lady tries to get me to dance.  Dock diving is more fun.  For my class I learned to be good in my crate, to do shadow handling, and enter a room properly which apparently is NOT to push people over to be first! Walk a plank.  Walk a ladder. Balance on a wobble board.  Stay (LOL) and touch (what?).  That's what I learned.  I also saw the world's smaillest dog and the world's largest dog.  They were in my class.

Foxxy and I went to play field retriever again.  Foxxy went in the water before she was supposed to so she did bad.  I did good and got my bumpers so I got a 3rd place in Pee Wee's.  I don't think I Pee's or Wee'd but maybe you don't have to Pee to get a ribbon.

Cassie At Her First Breed Show

Another new adventure!  (I have done so many new things!) We went to my first breed show.  I was the only one in my class.  I thoought it was boring.  Someone told the old lady to make it fun for me.  She didn't~  I moved around while the judge was poking around on me.  We stayed in a motel and I saw some really big dogs there.  I also saw horses near the motel. After that we went out in the country. We walkw=ed around a pond in some really tall grass.  They wouldn't let me go swimming.  They said I might live there some day.

I do the funnest thing ever.  I can jump straight up off the floor into the chari where the old lady sits.  It is so funny because she screams loud.

Today Foxxy and I went to the field practice place.  My BFF Zoey was there.  We all went swimming to get bumpers. I like to swim.  Foxxy is obsessed with swimming.  She doesn't seem like an old dog.

Brody comes to visit

Today was a big day here.  My bro Brody came home for a visit.  We had a good time! We ran and chased each other.  It was really hot outside or we could have played all day.  He is bigger than me with really big feet.  They all said he is beautiful.  Puh-lease!

Cassie starts new classes

I started a new class and I was tired when we finished.  We are learning some strange things.  Someday maybe they will make sense.  It is called a puppy performance class.  I thnk that means I will be a performer when I finish. We had a box we were supposed to play with, but I just tore mine uo and ate it.  It was called 101 things to do with a box - I found 102!

Today we went to Dogfest.  It was fun.  I saw dock diving.  I painted a picture, did rally, visited with lots of people, and saw lots of different  dogs.  People said I was well-behaved.  Hmmm.

I haven't been blogging because I didn't do anything.  I eat, sleep, and play.  It's too hot.

Foxxy and I went on another adventure.  We went to a dog party.  There were lots of dogs, games, food, ponds, and I saw my beautiful sister Sunni.  We played games and got toys.  We were playing in the pond and then we both just started swimming.  We also retrieved bumpers.  It was so much fun!

Cassie is back blogging

What happened outside?  I used to go outside and it was so cool and pleasant.  Now I go out and it's hot and makes me pant.

Today I saw the vet and she put something in the other end of me - not my mouth.  Something is wrong with her.  I got cookies and everyone says I'm beautiful.  Ha.  Tell me something I don't already know.  I went with the old lady to help her buy plants.  Everyone loved me and I really did sit politely for them, not like I did for the old lady today.  I jumped on her when she leaned over to put my collar on, and bit her hair.  Funny!

Cassie and her sister Sunni retrieving at K-9 Olympics

Cassie and her litter-mate and sister Sunni enjoyed a day at Twin Ponds learning all about water retrieving.  At first, both got their feet wet just a bit retrieving some baby toys in a small stream.  But by the end of the day, they were acting like real, grown-up retrievers, leaping into the water, and thinking nothing of swimming out 20-25 feet to retrieve a toy.  The bigger the splash, the more fun, even if they did go completely under the water in the process.  We all had some pretty tired pups by the end of the day.

Foxxy makes her one day at CCCC count!

Foxxy was only able to get into one day (Memorial Day) at the Capital City Cocker Club trial in Fredericksburg this weekend, but she made it count.  She earned a Double-Q with eighteen points.  Not a bad day for our girl as she approaches her 11th birthday!

Cassie has more adventures to blog about

I think my brother Neil is going to school to be a lawyer. The old lady said she saw his picture which was taken at Georgetown University.  She said he is on Facebook. She said he has a lot of pictures. She said he is the one who is learning to greet people without jumping on them and I could take a lesson from him and I bet he doesn't bark at people who come to his door and scare them off like I do.

I think a blog is better than Facebook and my friends do too.

Today was a beautiful day to dig holes and play with my Mom and Aunt Foxxy, but NO the old lady put me in the car.  We were gone forever!  We went fron store to store and I saw some new people.  I did throw up in the car.  Sometimes I do that.  We went to a park and I saw the biggest water puddle ever.  I saw that the water was moving in out in out - I almost got my feet wet.  I found a crab shell and a stick.  We had a lovely day, she said.  She said maybe my friend Zoe might comeover.  I can't wait.  We will play and fight and run and run.  I think we need to see each other more.

This may have been the best day of my entire life!  We went in the car.  OK, yes, I threw up but that's okay I just ate it.  Anyway, we went to Rover's Retreat and it was a huge place with ponds, dogs, guns, whistles, and ducks flying around.  It looked like so much fun.  I tried to pick up a duck but I was just too nervous.  A dog I know, Ellie, picked up a duck and it just made me mad because I couldn't.  I guess I don't understand what to do.  After I came home my friend Zoe came over.  It was SO fun!  We ran.  Zoe is as cute as me.  We love each other.  I showed Zoe how to run fast in a tunnel and we did it over and over.  Zoe ate lots of grass and we dug a very small hole before they said to stop.  Cookie Joan showed me how to stack myself - I am a little confused if I should sit or stand when they show me a cookie.

Another great day!  We got in the car and drove around the corner and the old lady found a pond.  We saw a million geese and 2 million babies.  I barked and barked really big.  The old lady held my face and said NO!  I stillbarked a few more times.  I'm not sure what I was supposed to do - she kept throwing things in the water and telling me to go get them.  I was too afraid to.  I did run around really fast and ate goose poop.  Then we left and I thought we were going home but we went to the place where the water goes in and out.  She threw sticks and this time I went in the water and had a good time. 

Another new adventure!  Foxxy and I went to Rover's Retreat again but this time there was a lot more people and a lot more dogs.  We went in the field and each puppy got to go pick up a bumper.  I was a little afraid of one of the ladies.  She kept saying "hey, hey!" and throwing things.  I don't really know what I was doing.  Anyway, everyone clapped.  I did go in the water for the first time and picked up a bumper.  This looks like something I would like to do.  Foxxy was a big winner.  She was so excited she made me nervous.  I saw Zoe and Cookie Joan but we were too excited to play.  Cookie Joan gave me a treat - UCK!  I spit it right out.  I know one thing - that was not chicken!  I saw Sheri and Barbara and Ellie.  I know Ellie but she growled and the old lady grabbed her nose and said no.  I can take care of my own business but I am small.

The old man and woman are talking about my brothers Neil and Storm.  They saw a picture of them.  They said my brothers look alike and I look like them.  Well, maybe, but my sister Sunni and I are really cute.

Foxxy Takes 1st Place in Senior Veterans Class at PVGRC WC/WCX

Foxxy took first place in the Senior Veterans class at the WC/WCX, handling two long land marks easily, then handling a tougher challenge from the judges in her water marks.  Her first water mark was intentionally thrown against the far shore, and around a corner (and out of sight).  No problem for Foxxy!  Other than an essential detour for a snack of goose poop, she handled it well.  Foxxy may be starting a new career in field work at 10-3/4.

Cassie Begins Field Work at PVGRC WC/WCX

Cassie participated in the PVGRC WC/WCX in Cheltenham, MD on 5/11.  She handled two land marks, one a bird and one a bumper, and also two water marks, both bumpers.  She manages bumpers close to shore, but is still figuring out what to do in deeper water.  She will no doubt be blogging about her experience soon!

Cassie is being social

I can't believe it!  They are talking about another brother of mine.  Neil - oh, he's so cute - he is learning how to greet people properly.  People don't like it when you sit politely - they want you to jump on them a lot and kiss them.  They make the loudest and most noise when you do that.  I think my brother is an astronaut. His name is Neil Armstrong. 

The old lady said I graduated from puppy kindergarten.  We went to class and we did our sits, downs, and leave-its.  Then we had to walk on the leash down the aisle with the people watching.  The old lady wanted to do the stroll but no one was old enough to know what that was.  I think I was the star of my class but that was just me.  I met some people - Pam, Sharon, Trish - and they said I was sooo good.  That was so funny that I laughed and laughed.  Everyone loved me.  Then I couldn't believe it, I saw my little sister Sunni!  She is so cute and so nice.  We love eack other.  I wanted her to come back home so my mom could see how cute she is, but her people want to keep her.  They said she is so smart - she must be like me. 

The old people are so excited because one of my other big brothers, Storm, had his picture taken with U.S. Senator Tim Kaine.  I think my brother is famous maybe since he hangs out with Senators.

Cassie goes to her first dog show!

Today was the biggest day of my Whole Life!  I saw a million Goldens and millions of people, my best friend Zoe, Cookie Joan, Karen (who helped me be born), everyone I know in the whole wide world, and my handsome brother.  I went in the car with the old man for the longest ride of my Whole Life - it took a million days.  We got to a park that was a million acres.  The old lady was ALREADY THERE when I got there so I think she was gone from home for a million days.  It was the loneliest million days of my Whole Life.  We hugged and hugged. So then we went up the hill to a ring like I've seen before.  I went in the ring with a million Golden puppies like me.  We were so cute.  I was able to help the old lady show me by taking my leash and pulling it.  Then we went to see Cookie Joan and you will NEVER believe this BUT she did NOT HAVE ANY CHICKEN.  I couldn't believe it!  My best friend Zoe is one week younger than me so I was trying to help Cookie Joan with Zoe by taking the leash and I tried and tried to get hold of the leash but Cookie Joan would not let me so I was offended and just left.  I saw my stupid brother - everyone was "oh, he's so handsome and so good!"  Please, it made me sick. I was so tired I fell asleep in the crate and then Aunt Foxxy got in the car and everyone was "oh, she's so cute and so good." Oh, please!

I had a very busy day.  I was so tired I fell asleep in the old man's car and forgot to throw up on it.  I had a very big day!  We ar now four months old!

More Cassie class stuff!

I went to class.  I wanted to go home. I hate the car. A boy said I was a good dog.  I was bored. The car, the car, I hate the car.  I went to the store. I saw new people and I practiced sitting.  One person called me by my name.  I didn't know her but she knew me.  She showed me her dog and it was bigger than me and black and I it liked me so I hit it in the face with my foot.

Today I went to see Cookie Joan and my best friend Zoe.  She is cute like me.  Her brother likes me a little too much but he is cute like me too.  I went in the car and didn't get sick.    Cookie Joan brought toys and I brought some home.

I went to class AGAIN!  The big dog pooped on the floor.  It was funny.  We played and I hit him  in the face with my foot and hit knocked me on my head with his big foot.  We are supposed to heel.  But how is the old lady supposed to know where to go if I don't lead her?  I had to go sit in the car for no reason.  I cried.

Today was a sunny day and I went outside with my mom and Aunt Foxxy.  We played and rolled in the dirt.  The old lady was talking to her hand or whatever that thing is that makes the ringing noise, and so I dug a big hole and then ran anround and around it.  It was so funny.  Then later I was outside and she came out and the loudest scariest sound I have ever heard happened.  I found out it was a mower and I was okay with it but it sure was scary.

Foxxy won her class in the Veterans 9 and Under 11 Bitches classes for both Veterans Sweepstakes and Regular Veterans.  Way to go Foxxy!
